Lick and Lather responce

Janine Antoni is a very interesting women to say the least. Her art work is impressive and originally. Its very loud in the aspects of the statements her art makes or in the sense that her art stands out in the crowd. He lick and lather piece was my favorite out of the ones mentioned. The sculpting of the chocolate and soap was astonishing. The ideas behind lick and lather was wonderful. I loved how theres both a gental act, yet they can be so harsh as to erase her identity as well.

Soap Carving Statment

The decisions made to my rooster were based off the theme of the road runner. My thoughts behind it were, he was always getting into trouble, so I implemented that same things to my soap rooster. His finial structure is an exemplification of all the crazy things he got into and all the adventures he had.

Process Of Destruction :)

I Added Paint

I Added safety pins

I removed some of his soap moister making him more solid then before.

I removed his face by lighting it up
I removed some of his soap body by setting fire to his whole being.

I wasn't enough the first time so i set him on fire agin.

He fell over!

The Aftermath! (Loving the colors of the pins. the fire turned them into rainbow colors).

I added spices to him and put him on the stove for dinner!

I added balloons! (He needed more color)

Melting away!

Shaking him up. (OH by the way, i chopped his head off and cheese grated his bum)

Freezer time!

So this is what soap looks like after its frozen!

He seems to like my soap sculpture! :)

FIRE FIRE FIRE .... again, this time camp fire style!

Farewell feathered friend!

Reading responce for Memento

After reading the memento, I was a little taking back. What I read was very sad and depressing. The though of children being given away in large amounts, blew my mine. Children are so precious, and even in today's society unwanted children are better taken care of then in this story. My mine could not even fathom the fact that people would drop there children off and then decide years down the road that they actually want them, so they just have to go retrieve them. The entire story just did not sit well with me, and it let my daydreaming about how those poor children must have felt during those times.
